I'm only using Cassiopeia these days. I create a child template and go from there. So nothing I'm doing has anything to do with third-party software.

I'm using third-party software to create a menu in productions sites. But I've been using only J5 and Cassiopeia for testing.

Try the menu in "topbar" position. That's where I've been using it. But I did move it to just under the brand and it still didn't work. I'll try the "dropdown", which I hadn't tried.
